Aloha, I am Katrina Crystal.

Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii. I love spending time with family and friends, traveling, shopping at Target, eating out and starting DIY projects that never get done. I have an amazing, adventurous baby girl and a not so little, happy baby boy that I'm forever taking photos of. I am an artist and a day dreamer, and all of these passions contribute to my obsession with telling stories through my camera.

Now that you know some things about me, let me share why I chose to be a photographer. I’d like to say my love for photography all began with a dream, but I’d be lying. It all began with a nightmare actually. At a young age, I’d often cry myself to sleep because I felt like time was against me. I didn’t want to lose my parents or anyone close to me and it haunted my thoughts. I’d wake up in the middle of the night to sleep with my parents until I could fall asleep again. But what does that have to do with photography? Trust me I didn’t know until now either. Still, as an adult I feel like time is never on our side. Taking photos was my way of stopping it! My way of being able to reminisce on the feelings and emotions we had in that moment, at that moment. To be able to look back and know exactly what was said, how you felt, and remember little details of that day so clearly.
